been in us since 1999 and lost my earlier priorty date and now my priority date is Jan 2007...it sucks...the only good thing is i now have EAD and AP. everyone who is here fro last 5-6 years should be current with priority dates..

As we get closer to election day it seems that Democrats will have control of the Congress. All the polls that have been and are being conducted show that the Democrats are leading the Republicans by double digits.
If Democrats win the CIR will get through but the there will be a huge backlog as there arent enough people at USCIS to do the work, which in a way is retrogession. There will be relief for people with advanced degrees but on paper only.As it will still take years for their paperwork to get through USCIS, others will be in a worse situation as the waiting line would be huge.
If Republicans win there will be no CIR as pointed out by others in the thread. However, SKIL might get through and that will help shorten the waiting period for people without advanced degrees.
Based on my analysis (which might be completely wrong), I think we are better off with Republicans.

At least with DEMS there is close to surety of passing one Immigration Bill even if it is CIR.... With REPs, we will never see any bill the light of day... Not sure which world you live in but check out numbersusa site and you will see how they are trying to decrease the immigration - legal or illegal alike.... So while Skill will go through Senate, it will be again blocked in house like it was in Dec2005........ So bottomline is that I would rather have some bill passed and have a hope in sight than no bill and never know if one will ever get GC

I recived the case nos from TSC , they had received mine & my wife's applications ( 485, 765,131 ) on 4th June , I see one set of checks cashed.
I expect the other set to be cleared some time Mon-Tues

same way you prove that in the case of I-140... by writing up letters exlaining job duties... and showing offer letter, pay stubs, company tax returns and/or quarterly tax receipts, client contracts... etc etc etc...

Its not difficult if one is really running the business. It may be difficult for someone who is looking for job and opens a company to show self employment with nothing else going for that new business.

As you have efiled your EAD the FP you have received might not necessarily mean the FP for 485, it could be just for EAD. Gurus any comment!!
Well in my opinion(although it doesn't count) an FP is an FP and it is for I-485 and EAD happens to use biometric information on the card.
I 'll try not to lose my sleep over it... chill!!!!!!!

Okay - so I know this is premature....but just today I logged into my CRIS account and I saw that they've touched my case on Aug 25th!!

I totally agree on EB3 to EB2 porting but the PD should be the day he qualified as EB2 not the original date of EB3 which makes sense.
This way everyone is happy.
People who have done Masters (EB2) should get the GCs first. :) ...Relax dont give me a red for this. I already had enough.

Got a CRIS Notification for EAD Card PRODUCTION dated Sept 2nd for my wife.
EAD receipt Dat: July 23rd
Card Production date: Sept 2nd
They say it will take 30days to get in the mail..
No idea whether it really takes 30 days or less so I can verify actual validity of the EAD card !
I don't know what worked..mailed TSC a letter to expediate.. Also emailed Local Senator and Congressman to expediate my spouse's EAD renewal.

It high time that these guys get kicked on what ever, I have seen so many of my friends frustated due to non payment and get scarred to do anything against it..... I appreciate your courage , If they do bussiness and employ people they should legally pay, So many poeple come from India with kids and family and suffer so much when they are not getting paid on bench...I can only sympathise with their situation , Shame on such bussiness...BLOOD SUCKERS, MANIACS . I would say USCIS should create a law to punish these blood sucking monsters.

The priority date should be always based on the particular labor filling or the filing of I140 (which ever applicable)
I am not against anyone getting GC. If everyome gets GC today, I am all for it. But no solution is in sight. But that does not mean someone elase will try to push EB2 back.
Therefore just wanted to let EB2 guys realize what will happen to them if no action is taken.
This is very simillar to labor substitution...

Porting happens as prescribed by law, unlike Labor substitutions which was being sold for $$$. These days its not easy to get filed in EB2 - as the labor market is very bad. If someone gets through, then they really deserve it .

My receipt #s start with LIN. I did call USCIS regarding my receipt #s, and level I customer service wasn't able to find the numbers in the system. Obvisouly they have limited access to the system. I spoke to a level II IO, and they were able to pull up my information. They said that it will take a couple of days before I'm able to track my case online.
